A missing company car was located in Detroit on Friday, February 26, after being reported stolen to police about 9:36 a.m. from a resident in the 900 block of Ann Street of Birmingham. Birmingham police said the resident said he may have left the key fob in the vehicle when he parked it in his driveway the prior night. He said he noticed around 8 a.m. that the vehicle was missing. A washing machine was stolen during an home invasion on the evening of Wednesday, February 17 in the 100 block of Linda Lane in Bloomfield Hills, police said. Bloomfield Hills public safety officers responded about 7:26 p.m. to the report of a breaking and entering in the area to find the front door of the building forced open, authorities said. After a search of the home, it was determined a washing machine was stolen. The incident is under investigation.
A 21-year-old Detroit man was arrested in connection with credit card fraud after spending the night on Wednesday, February 24, at the DoubleTree Hotel, 39475 Woodward in Bloomfield Hills, police said. Bloomfield Hills Police Lt. Dustin Lockard said it was determined the man checked in with a fraudulent card and then made numerous room service charges. The man was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending charges.
A recent spring thaw revealed a $3,800 theft on Monday, March 1, when a Birmingham man discovered his golf clubs were missing from a parking garage storage area in the 400 block of S. Old Woodward, police said. The victim told Birmingham police he put the clubs in storage in mid-November of 2020 and went to retrieve them on February 25, when he discovered the storage area unlocked and the clubs missing.
