Local police were on high alert since Thursday evening after the Beverly Hills Police Department received a concern submitted through the State of Michigan’s anonymous safety reporting system, OK2Say, relative to Groves High school in the Birmingham Schools district.

Two women were arrested in Birmingham on Monday, November 10, after reportedly stealing over $700 worth of clothing from a store located on the 100 block of S. Old Woodward.  The person reporting the theft claimed the two women came into the store and grabbed excessive amounts of clothing before leaving the store without paying. An argument in Birmingham between two men the morning of Saturday, November 15, led to an arrest after one of the men pulled a gun from his car and put it in his waistband, showing it off to the other.  The report from Birmingham police states that the two were in an argument because one of them had not moved his vehicle. Employees of a Birmingham business located on the 2000 block of E. Lincoln got into a physical fight around 1 a.m. on Friday, November 14, after arguing with each other.  According to witnesses, one of the women took the other two women’s phones before leaving the businesses. Birmingham police state that they have not yet been able to get in contact with the suspect, but the investigation is ongoing. The name of local businesses are seldom provided by Birmingham police.

In the early morning hours of Friday, November 7, Birmingham police officers assisted the Bloomfield Township Police Department with the arrest of an alleged home invader. According to the report, officers saw the suspect, a man from Detroit, in a driveway near the 400 block of Berwyn Road in Birmingham and was arrested after being located.  Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
