Junk in the Trunk returns to Rochester
Downtown Rochester's Junk in the Trunk crafts and collectibles event is scheduled for Saturday, August 18, at the Farmer's Market upper lot. The resale show features items from area residents, businesses and handmade crafters that can be sold from parking spaces in the parking lot. Popular items include furniture, collectibles, antiques, dishes, glassware and accessories. "We are really excited to host Junk in the Trunk once again this summer," said Jenna O'Dell, Rochester Downtown Development Authority Events Coordinator. "We have already received a handful of applications from Rochester area residents, crafters and downtown Rochester businesses who are also looking forward to the event. Between area residents, downtown Rochester businesses and crafters, there is sure to be an array of resale, new and handmade products." Those wishing to sell items may do so from a maximum of two parking spaces, which are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. The price for one space is $35 and $50 for two. Registration forms can be found online at downtownrochestermi.com/junk-in-the-trunk. Payment must accompany registration, with an August 6 deadline to register. All registrants are responsible for additional needs, such as tables, chairs, petty cash, etc. When choosing items for resale, O'Dell said it's important to think antique and vintage, not old and used.
