Maple, Telegraph gas station to get update
Plans to update the Mobil gas station at the northwest corner of Maple and Telegraph roads are underway, as the Bloomfield Township Planning Commission on Monday, March 4, forwarded plans for the demolition and construction to the township board of trustees.
Bloomfield Township Deputy Director of Planning Andrea Bibby said the owners, BP of White Lake and Bloomfield Mobil, submitted plans that combine properties at 6490 and 6450 Telegraph Road to raise the existing Mobil station and construct a new, 2,340-square foot station. The combined parcel will be about 1.88 acres and is located in the Hogan's Plaza.
The new station is looking to extend its hours of operation to a 24-hour business. Under the current zoning, hours of operation beyond 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. require a special land use approval from the township board. The station's current hours are from 5 a.m to midnight, daily.
The plan calls for keeping the existing fuel pump canopies in the front of the building.
The planning commission unanimously forwarded the plan and request to the township board with a recommendation to approve. The plan is expected to be taken up by the township board of trustees later this month.
