Locker thief steals cash at Lifetime Fitness

Bloomfield Township police are investigating the theft of about $200 in cash stolen on Monday, May 27, from a gym locker at a Lifetime Fitness health club, 4106 Telegraph Road.

The victim, who made the report at the township's police department, told officers he was at the gym between 6:30 and 7 p.m. when an unknown person gained access to his locker and stole the money from his wallet. The victim told police he was certain he locked the locker prior to his workout.

Only cash was stolen.

The gym was made aware of the incident and the case is under investigation.

Police said the public should be reminded that, when possible, gym patrons should leave valuables locked in their vehicles when using fitness clubs.
