$24,000 in forged checks from stolen checkbook

Bloomfield Township took a report of a stolen checkbook on Friday, November 1, which had multiple checks fraudulently written and cashed, totaling over $24,000.

The resident told police that at the end of September he had met a woman at a bar, then invited her to his home. He discovered soon after that one checkbook was missing from his office desk, and after checking his bank account, found that four checks with a forged signature had been written to people he did not know, totaling over $24,000 in cashed checks.

Those with information are encouraged to call Bloomfield Township police at 248.433.7755.
