Birmingham senior discovers check theft

A senior in Birmingham had a check stolen from the front door of his home on the 400 block Wellesley Drive on Sunday, May 28, after he taped the envelope to the door.

The man reported to police that he had taped an envelope with the check inside to his front door for a contractor who was supposed to pick up the envelope some time later that day. He later discovered the check missing from the envelope, but the contractor had not picked it up.

According to Birmingham police, there are no witnesses or suspects. They are continuing to investigate.
