Thefts from cars reported near Quarton Lake

Two Birmingham residents discovered money had been stolen on Saturday, October 9, after leaving their property in their unlocked vehicles overnight near Quarton Lake, police said.


Police responded to the first incident at 11:21 a.m. in the 200 block of Aspen where the victim said her wallet and other items were stolen from her vehicle. The victim discovered the items in the bushes down the street. An unidentified amount of cash was missing from the wallet.


A second report was made about 4:38 p.m. in the 1100 block of Lake Park Drive. The victim told police money was missing from her wallet, which was left in her unlocked vehicle overnight. A witness told police an unidentified person entered the vehicle through the driver’s door and rummaged through the vehicle.


Birmingham police are investigating.
