Thousands stolen in Birmingham home burglary

At 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, Birmingham police were called to the 400 block of Henrietta after a 74-year-old resident reported that someone had broken into her home.


Birmingham police reported seeing signs of a breaking and entering through the side door of the house, and the homeowner told the officers that roughly $15,000 worth of cash was stolen from her home.


An investigation is ongoing to the break in, according to police.
