Resident had identity stolen for SBA loan

A Bloomfield Township resident reported to police on Thursday, October 22, that someone used his personal information to obtain a small business loan. The victim, 51, who lives in the 500 block of Foxhall Court, informed township officers that he received letters from the U.S. Small Business Loan Administration (SBA) stating he was the debtor of a $30,000 loan. The victim reported that in addition to the SBA loan, his personal information was used to file unemployment benefits in the state of Ohio and to open a credit line with Navy Federal Bank.

The victim told police he has no idea how his personal information was obtained. Bloomfield Township police are currently investigating.
