Man arrested for pointing fake gun at people

Multiple people walking and driving down the 500 block of North Old Woodward in downtown Birmingham on Sunday, May 5, around 3 p.m. called police after a man reportedly waved a fake gun at them while he was standing outside of a restaurant.

Witnesses said that the man pointed the fake gun and a phone at people passing and pretended to shoot. When police got there, they noticed the man was drunk and found a red and green toy gun.

The man, from Waterford, was arrested and issued a citation of disorderly conduct, Birmingham police said.
