Trustees discuss fire service for Bingham Farms

Discussions officially began on Monday, March 9, about a potential partnership between the Bloomfield Township Fire Department and the Village of Bingham Farms, which approached the township about providing fire services.

City won’t object to liquor license renewals

Birmingham City Commissioners on Monday, March 9, conducted a pubic hearing on two facilities in the city that hold liquor licenses and ultimately voted to not file objections with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission on renewing those licenses.

Special assessment districts refunds okayed

After a unanimous vote from the Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees on Monday, March 9, residents from special assessment districts (SAD) 425, 426 and 427 will be receiving a sizable refund in the mail soon.

Employee contracts for township approved

At the Bloomfield Township Board of Trustee meeting on Monday, March 9, trustees voted unanimously to approve six individual township employee contracts after a very brief closed session.

Home invasion while owners out of town

Bloomfield Township police were dispatched on Sunday, March 8, to the 5000 block of Windingwood Drive for a home invasion that occurred while the homeowners were out of town.

Nike clothing items taken from Dick’s location

Bloomfield Township police officers on Friday, March 6, responded to 2105 S Telegraph Road, Dick’s Sporting Goods, for a report of retail theft.

A prominent Democratic fundraiser, with significant ties to several local candidates running for state office in 2026, has been revealed to have had a grandfather who served in the Nazi regime’s Army in World War II. According to numerous publications, Kelly Neumann, a trial attorney from Traverse City and principal of Neumann Law Group who is serving as co-chair of the finance committees of Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson, posted on Facebook and Instagram on November 11, 2024 – Veteran’s Day – honoring veterans, notably her grandfather, who was featured in the since-deleted posts, in several photos in full Nazi regalia, according to Jewish Insider, Fox News and MSN – including one in what appears to be an officer’s uniform.
